Fresh air
Then a play on the equipment and a slide down the fireman's pole (like Fireman Sam)
And a dance with a smile!
Teddy bears and trains
Jack and Lachlan were invited to Joshua and Lucas' birthday party this weekend. It was at the miniature railway with the theme of a teddy bears picnic.

Birthday boy!
He woke at 12am, but was promptly taken back to bed before he saw his presents sitting on the table. He did however, see the streamers I had hung as a surprise. We ended up having to wake him at 7am so Leigh could get to work in time. We went into his room singing 'Happy Birthday'. I recorded it on my phone and would put it on the blog but we sound dreadful! Happy but dreadful!
Amongst some of the presents we gave him were some roller shoes that he had been asking for. He was very happy, and is committed to mastering the art of rolling. All day he said, "Mummy, I'm very lucky to have roller shoes."
I tried my hand at a bit of sewing and made him a dinosaur costume. He was pleased with my efforts!
Festival of Jack
Three parties in three days for a four year old is pretty crazy! We had fish and chips with my family on Friday night, Uncle Yannick and Uncle Biff were in competition for giving the best gift! Both were winners! A remote controlled gorilla and a John Deer digger is just up Jack's alley! He said the gorilla was awesome and on Saturday afternoon took the digger outside to dig some dirt. Once he was finished he carefully washed the digger in the bathroom. I have never witnessed him clean a toy before! It must be special.
Saturday was the big party with his friends. Twenty kids and twenty parents! Massive! I had been praying all week that the 90% change of rain wouldn't come to fruition. But alas we had a torrential down pour of rain on Friday night that would have created a mud bath in our backyard if we'd let the kids outside. So an indoor party it had to be! Luckily the local toy library had an indoor jumping castle that saved the day! The photo is of Jack at the end of the day having exclusive use of the castle before bed.
Sunday lunch was with Leigh's parents and Jack's cousins. More jumping castle, cake and fun was had! After they left, the neighbours came over again. The kids came for the castle, the adults for a drink and a sit down!
Dinosaur cake
I'm still in recovery mode from the weekend, that was fondly called 'Festival of Jack'. Three parties in three days... what a lucky boy!! Here's his dinosaur cake. He enjoyed looking through the Women's Weekly Birthday Cake cookbook, deciding on which cake he would request. Despite the fact it looks a bit like a green kangaroo he loved it! I have since googled images of this cake, and it seems most of us mums end up with a dino-roo! For the first time I used a cake packet mix which made life a lot easier and funnily enough had a lot of positive feedback! Seems a 79 cent Aldi packet mix is the way to go!
